If you are a fan of the Doc Martin TV show seen on most PBS channels in America and shown in over 35 other countries around the worlds, then you must visit the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac on the north coast of Cornwall. Port Isaac is used as the location for the fictional village of Portwenn.
A walk through this picturesque village will take you passed Doc Martin’s house and surgery, the village shop, Mrs Tishell’s pharmacy and the school. There are plenty of other places which any fan of the TV show will recognise, you can also enjoy a drink in the Golden Lion pub which is used by Martin Clunes, the cast and film crew.
There are plenty of shops in the village of Port Isaac selling souvenirs of the show, and if you are lucky you might be there on a day when they are filming. Away from Port Isaac, other filming locations include Doydens Castle at Port Quin and St Nonna’s Church, Altarnum.
Cornwall DMC specialise in unique and personalised special interest tours of Cornwall for groups large and small, creating bespoke trips that focus on subjects like Doc Martin, incorporating these in to wider itineraries of Southern England and London.
