- Our confirmed groups and travel trade products being marketed for 2023 are well ahead of 2022 with requests coming through from across the world.
- Adverse effect of the staycation boom – high residual pricing and terms & conditions less friendly to the travel trade, because of the surge in demand from individuals in the domestic market, threatens to remove Cornwall from the main brochures of many mid market operators internationally. Business that hotels once relied on in pre-Covid years is not guaranteed as we compete with other destinations in Europe.
- Future expansion of overseas travel in the important shoulder season needs active promotion and product development. We’ve created Spring Garden Tours with special experiences and one off events to attract higher end clientele from markets such as the US currently benefiting from the very strong $. We hosted 10 important tour operators from America in March on a 2 day trip packed with visits and experiences to draw their clients away from London.
- Cornwall DMC are at World Travel Market in London this November, exhibiting at ITB Berlin next March and RDA in Cologne in April to keep Cornwall’s profile high is key markets.
