Cornwall has cemented its position as a first class luxury holiday destination with the announcement of two 5-star hotels in the county. Both the Nare Hotel on the Roseland Peninsula and the Headland Hotel in Newquay received the accolade on 20th Sept.
The Nare, considered the highest rated hotel for many years, offers traditional hospitality with a high standard of comfort and service in a country house setting by the sea. Robert Martin, AA South West Area Manager, commented on the award saying: “The Nare has continued to strive for top quality and comfort for the last 3 decades being one of Cornwall’s strongest establishments.”
The second hotel to receive its 5 AA stars is the Headland Hotel in Newquay, while also celebrating 40 years of ownership by John and Carolyn Armstrong. With 95 bedrooms and a new £8m spa due to be opened next year it occupies a promiminent position in the heart of Newquay overlooking Fistral Beach. Headland MD, Darryl Reburn, said: “2019 is turning out to be a vintage year for The Headland. We have always strived to offer a five star experience for our guests, and it is wonderful for our team to see this reflected in the AA rating moving up to the highest level.”
