Bryher is an island of dramatic contrast, pounded by Atlantic waves on one side and calm sandy beaches on the other, the perfect place to enjoy a taste of untamed Scilly. Around 80 people live on Bryher.
Explore rocky coves, laze on white sandy beaches or hike up one of its small granite hills for some great views, Bryher offers a wonderful sense of freedom and natural beauty. Watch the Atlantic waves thunder into Hell Bay, particularly spectacular in the winter and enjoy the calm and tranquillity of Rushy Bay looking towards Samson.
The island is crossed by tracks and dotted with stalls selling fresh produce including farm eggs, local vegetables, freshly-landed seafood and island fudge. The Bryher Shop is an excellent spot to purchase anything that you might need and Bennett’s Boatyard offer boats and kayaks for hire.
There are also a number of places to eat, including the Hell Bay Hotel and Fraggle Rock which offer lunch, dinner, light snacks and cream teas.
