Cornwall is about to get a major accessibility boost just in time for the peak season. Following the recent news regarding the end of the subsidised London route, EasyJet has stepped into the fold, announcing a new direct service between Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY) and London Gatwick (LGW).
Starting June 23, EasyJet will operate flights twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Why this matters for tour operators:
Affordability and Sustainability: As a commercial venture for EasyJet, this move offers a sustainable model for travel from London into Cornwall.
Peak Access: The Tuesday/Saturday schedule is perfectly timed for weekly tours and holidays, making it easier for visitors arriving in London to reach the South West easily.
As the only local DMC. Cornwall DMC sees this as a fantastic win for regional accessibility. Whether you’re planning a group tour, incentive group trip or luxury holiday, the return of Gatwick connectivity ensures Cornwall stays firmly on the map for your clients.
